In the latest of our weekly visits to the area’s schools,

What’s the best thing about your school?

Billy Phillips, 10: “All the trips we take. We went to Guildford for four days, we went to the London Eye, Buckingham Palace and St James’ Park. My favourite was when we got to try on all the hats at changing of the guard.”

Bethany Gray, 11: “I especially like it in science where we get to do experiments.”

Laurie Healy, 9: “I like it when we do cooking. Sometimes we make biscuits and then we get to eat them.”

Nicole Brown, 10: “All our lessons are really fun and they’re all interactive so we work together and we all get involved.”

What’s your favourite lesson?

Billy said: “PE, because we get to do sport stuff. My favourite is football, which I’m best at.”

Bethany said: “Art, because I really like drawing and I especially like abstract and realistic portraits.”

Laurie said: “PE, because we get to do sports, which is fun. I like football and support Arsenal.”

Nicole said: “Science, because it’s really fun. We get to do lots of experiments and learn a lot of new things.”

If you were head teacher, what would you change?

Billy: “Maybe longer lunchtimes, but nothing else.”

Bethany: “I’d put more posters up in our new classrooms because it just makes the room feel more like the rest of the school.”

Laurie: “If I was the teacher I would repaint everything really bright colours, and you would be able to bring in hot food. I would have my own microwave just for me.”

Nicole: “I would use the empty building in the playground and turn it into an art studio for classes to use.”

What’s your favourite game to play?

Billy: “Football, it’s just the most fun.”

Bethany: “Pass the Buck. One person says a word and you have to say something that goes with it, and it goes round and round, but you only have five seconds to answer. If you don’t you’re out.”

Laurie: “Contact rugby, because the whole game is adrenalin, you just don’t stop moving, and you get very muddy.”

Nicole: “Tag-back-it. It’s a game just like It but you don’t have to go and count.”

If could have a lesson from anyone for a day, who would you choose?

Billy: “Andrés Iniesta. He’s a brilliant football player, and he could teach me football and Spanish.”

Bethany: “This painter called Daniel Gerhartz. He’s a really good painter, he mostly does people and he could teach me his style.”

Laurie: “John Cena. He’s a wrestler but he’s really nice and he tells people not to fight. He could teach me to do his finishing move, where you get your opponent on your shoulders and lob him on the floor.”

Nicole: “Jackie Chan. He’s an actor, he acts in lots of action and karate movies but he’s a lot of fun. He could teach us a variety of things.”

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Billy: “A footballer for Crystal Palace, because it’s fun.”

Bethany: “A photographer or an artist. I just really like taking pictures, especially of things like flowers and wildlife and things like that.”

Laurie: “A footballer for Arsenal, because it’s not boring.”

Nicole: “I’d like to be an actor. My favourite famous person is Jennifer Aniston and I really want to be in movies – not horror or action but some nice movies.”
