In just a few weeks time Crystal Palace will finally be put on the map, when the new Overground trains roll into the station platforms and to celebrate this monumental occasion, locals have re-named the annual Triangle Festival to the Underground Festival, or should that be Overground Festival?!

Every year locals, traders and visitors to Crystal Palace congregate on the sunny triangle in commemoration of everything that is colourful and diverse. Side streets are closed, street markets come to life and local artists and musicians entertain the people with live music and performance. It is historically always beautiful weather on the weekend of the festival and the busy roads are always full of happy faces, the festival is a great way to spend the day and equally it is a brilliant place to meet other locals and make new friends, for not much more than the cost of a pint, a homemade burger and a good conversation.

The London Overground officially opens in Crystal Palace on 23rd May and the Festival kicks off just six days later on Saturday 29th May from 10am till late, there will be lots going on so people of all ages so bring the family and make a day of it. Check out the Myspace page for a full list of Festival events.

Andy Stem is the owner of vintage shop Bambinos, he is one of the community contacts for the festival, so if you would like to get involved with the festival email: andy.bambino@yahoo.co.uk

I missed the last triangle festival in December, so it will be great to see what all the fuss is about! I will also be playing deep soulful and funky house in Westow House, Saturday night from 9-2am, so come and check us out.

Really looking forward to the festival, the live music is always a treat and this year the line up will again include local favourites The Lovebirds and The South London Jazz Orchestra, as well as Burlesque from the utterly gorgeous Thrill Billies, Saturday evening, at the White Hart...can't wait!
