The Advertiser shows you why life isn’t really that bad

1) Crystal Palace have announced they are looking to move into a new 40,000-seater stadium. If their current form continues by the time the doors open in 2015 they may be playing in the Ryman Premier League, but hey, the quality of the meat pies should be better.
2) At least it isn’t snowing. Well, it wasn’t at the time of writing, at any rate.
Yes, that’s right folks, things could always be worse.
It may be difficult to remember the last time the sun was shining in Croydon, but can you believe it is now more than a month since the temperature dropped to below minus 13 degrees and the borough ground to a standstill?
3) Croydon’s curmudgeonly councillors may have cancelled this year’s festival, but preparations for neighbouring Sutton’s Imagine arts festival are well underway.
The two week extravaganza will take place between May 27 and June 12, so that’s something to look forward to.
Let’s face it, you probably won’t be able to afford Benidorm.
4) The beautiful fluffy creatures at Croydon’s branch of Pets at Home on the Purley Way brighten up the cloudiest of days for us when we’re feeling blue.
The bouncing bunnies and gorgeous gerbils never fail to put a smile on our faces.
5) After years of decline several new nightspots have opened in the town centre, including Taberners Lounge Bar and the Roxbury, to compliment the wealth of the town’s already popular pubs.
If you’re looking for a night out, there really is nowhere better south of the river.
Now, if Georgie-boy could just do something about the extortionate rate of beer tax, we’d all be happy...
6) A trip to South Norwood Country Park is the perfect way to escape the hustle and bustle of life.
Enjoy a brisk walk through the acres of green land which is right on your doorstep.
The Advertiser understands the Government has no plans to tax fresh air.
7) Psst....have you heard about Cheap Veg? This new store on Crystal Palace Triangle gives you every reason to be cheerful.
It may be a bit random, but not only does it sell bargain kiwis and bags of onions for a quid, it also offers cut price second hand DVDs for £1 too. Fab!
8) Thank the Lord for our benevolent masters at Croydon Town Hall who have frozen council tax for the new financial year. Hurrah!
And that’s not all that’s frozen either. We’re all freezing our knackers off, having been forced to turn the thermostat down to cope with the ever spiralling cost of fuel.
9) Croydon is home to London's first basketed disc golf course in Lloyd Park.
For those who don’t know, disc golf is basically a game of frisbee combined with a game of golf.
We don’t who thought that one up or, more importantly, why?
10) Fill this one in for yourself. We’ve run out of ideas.
