High Street & Online Holiday Bargains!

The summer holidays are finally here and those of us who haven't already booked our getaway are desperately trying to find the best late deals. With the Internet being the most used form of media for everything nowadays, including securing holiday arrangements most people rarely book holidays or flights through their local travel agents, but with hidden vat, luggage costs and handling fees some of us are being charged more for our annual holiday then we be should be.

I was surprised to find that there was still quite a good selection of travel agents available on the high street and that most of those had some rather decent discounts on offer for this summer, especially for those in need of a late deal. Most of our local travel agents, don't have websites, so it means one will have to step away from the Internet and discuss travel arrangements face to face, which is usually a more informative and assured way of securing the deal. 

Norwood Travel is one of the only local travel agents that has a website, but booking must be done in person. Current late bookings include a 7 night one week, self catering holiday to Corfu, for just £229 per person. Deals are updated monthly so it's worth checking the site for last minute bargains.

If like me you prefer to surf until the early hours of the morning trying to obtain the best package deals, then you should probably check out the following websites, all of which contain no hidden extra costs.

Directline Holidays are offering a great selection of late deals on packages all over the world, including one week in Tunisia, on half board deal, for £332 per person, leaving from London Gatwick this August.

First Choice also has a staggering selection of amazing online deals, including: 7 nights, B&B in Turkey based on two sharing, £239 per person, leaving London Gatwick this August.

Online favourite, Expedia is offering holiday apartments and studios for 7 nights, B&B to Greece, starting at just £260! Leaving London Gatwick in September.

Even though we have been blessed with glorious sunshine for longer than I can remember this summer, we are still a long way from the golden sandy beaches that should accompany this beautiful weather. So if you are looking to get away with the family over the summer holidays then it might be worth checking out the deals on offer now, as they are going very quickly.
