David Cameron has launched his new 'Big Society' plans, in a bid to make the public feel empowered. In a speech, the prime minister said groups should be able to run local businesses, services and give residents more control over council spending, to actively shape housing projects.
There has been scepticism from voluntary groups as Cameron also announced plans to fund the schemes, set to launch in Liverpool, Cumbria, Windsor, Maidenhead and the London borough of Sutton, from monies held in unclaimed bank accounts...Interesting.

What do you think of the new Tory plans? Do you think the scheme is a good idea? What changes would you like to see made to services in your local area? Let the discussion commence...

This dangerous Tory hands off approach to many services in certain areas, will only strengthen the divide between rich and poor. Ignorance as they say is bliss, and if the 'men on the street' are given power over their communities, then in effect they are master of their own destiny or demise, whatever the outcome, the result of the decision will no longer be the responsiblity of the government...
