Smash, Bang, Wallop Burglary Update

A couple of days ago I wrote an article on the break-in at Smash, Bang, Wallop and since then owner Liz Clamp got in contact to give her thoughts and update me on the situation, as she wasn't in the shop when I visited last Sunday.

The shop is a favourite of Glamour Magazine editor, Jo Elvin.
Liz said: 'I would just like to thank the passerby who disturbed the intruders and also everyone who has popped in to check if I needed any help. It now looks from descriptions that this was another gang who are operating in the area, from other recent break-ins.'
There is no news yet on whether the police have caught the cluprits, thought to be members of a local gang, which is shocking given there is a police station just around the corner from Smash, Bang, Wallop and plenty of CCTV cameras on Westow Street and most of the Triangle.
It is hard enough for small, local businesses to thrive without the added financial and emotional strain of being robbed, those responsible need to be caught and brought to justice, so this spate of local crime can come to an end. Until now the businesses fallen victim to the crimes, have been lucky enough to get away more or less unscathed, but this may not be the case next time and it would be a dreadful shame to lose one of our quirky and unique shops as a result.
